GTM Generalist - Open Source MLOps

Overview: Turn Community Signals into Revenue

We're looking for a sharp, high-energy generalist to become the connective tissue between our growing open-source community and our commercial pipeline. ZenML is transforming how AI teams build production-ready ML pipelines, and we have a problem most startups would kill for: thousands of engaged developers using our tool every month — but no one systematically turning that engagement into conversations.
This isn't a traditional sales or marketing role. You won't be cold-calling from a list or writing ad copy. You will be the person who spots an ML engineer asking about pipeline orchestration in our Slack, reaches out with genuine help, and turns that into a product conversation. You will build the system that converts community warmth into commercial momentum. You’ll also play a key role in guiding new customers through onboarding and success, often getting hands-on with the product as you help them deploy and adopt ZenML effectively

Key Responsibilities (The "Jobs to be Done")

Warm Signal Detection & Outreach: You will monitor our community channels (Slack, GitHub, LinkedIn, Orbit) daily to identify users and prospects showing buying signals. You will craft personalized, technical outreach that doesn't feel like spam — because it isn't.
Inbound Qualification & Demo Booking: You will be the first point of contact for inbound interest. You will qualify leads, understand their MLOps pain points, and book demos with the right people on our team.
Customer Onboarding & Success: Take ownership of the early customer journey — ensuring new users get from “interested” to “activated.” Collaborate closely with Solutions Engineering and Product to deliver smooth onboarding, proactive support, and early wins. Partner with Solutions Engineering to debug common onboarding issues (auth, permissions, environment setup) and shepherd them to resolution.
Own “first value”: Configure lightweight, tailored ZenML demos or example pipelines that mirror a prospect’s environment or use case. Design and execute simple “Day 1 / Week 1” success plans so every new customer ships one small pipeline or POC into their environment quickly.
Hands-On Technical Engagement: Learn and use ZenML directly to help customers configure, troubleshoot, and succeed with the product during onboarding and success phases.
Event & Community Activation: You will represent ZenML at meetups, conferences, and webinars. You will help organize events that put us in front of ML practitioners — not as salespeople, but as fellow builders.
GTM Operations & Experimentation: You will help build the playbook as you go. What outreach templates work? Which signals convert best? What's the ideal follow-up cadence? You will test, learn, and document.
Partner & Ecosystem Outreach: You will identify and nurture relationships with complementary tools, consultancies, and communities in the MLOps ecosystem.

Tools & Tech You'll Work With

The Product: ZenML (You'll need to understand what it does and why ML teams care — we'll teach you).
The GTM Stack: HubSpot/CRM, Orbit (community signals), LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email outreach tooling.
The Community: Slack, GitHub, Discord, Twitter/X, Hacker News, Reddit.
The Data: PostHog/Google Analytics (website analytics), basic spreadsheet analysis.

What We're Looking For

The Signal Spotter: You have an instinct for noticing when someone is ready to talk. Maybe you built this muscle in consulting, BD, or community work — the point is you read between the lines.
Comfort with code & infra: You are comfortable reading basic Python, YAML, or CLI output, and discussing CI/CD, containers, and cloud environments at a conceptual level.
Technical Curiosity: You don't need to write Kubernetes manifests, but you need to be genuinely interested in how ML teams work. You should be the kind of person who'd spend a weekend reading about MLOps because you find it fascinating, not because someone told you to.
Builder Over Bureaucrat: You don't wait for a process to exist before you act. If you see something that should be done, you do it. We want to hear about times you built something from nothing.
Communication: You write clearly and concisely. You're comfortable talking to senior ML engineers and CTOs without being intimidated, and without being "salesy."
Hustle with Taste: You move fast, but you're not sloppy. Your outreach is personalized, your follow-ups are timely, and you care about the details.

Why This Role Matters

Own the Function: This is not a cog-in-the-machine role. You will be building ZenML's GTM engine from the ground up. In 6 months, you'll own more than most people touch in 3 years at a large company.
Inflection Point: We're at $1M ARR with strong product-market fit and a growing community. The pipeline is warm — it just needs someone to work it. Your impact will be immediate and measurable.
Technical Growth: You will develop deep expertise in MLOps, cloud infrastructure, and the AI/ML ecosystem — one of the fastest-growing markets in tech.
Founding Team Energy: You will work directly with the founders and a small, exceptional team. No layers, no politics, no waiting for approvals.
