Frontend Engineer (Next.js / React / TypeScript) — Forward Deployed
Location: San Francisco Type: Full-time, On-site Experience: 1–4 years (Junior–Mid) Team: Restack Boilerplate (Frontend)
About the Role
We’re looking for a Frontend Engineer with a Forward Deployed mindset to help enterprise product teams adopt and customize the Restack Boilerplate — our React/Next.js UI for building, configuring, and observing AI agents and workflows.
You’ll build new UI components, customize enterprise-specific flows, and work directly with customers to tailor their agent dashboards, simulations, experiments, and internal tools.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where you will ship visible product every week.
What You’ll Do
Frontend Engineering
Build UI in Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind
Develop and maintain core components of Restack Boilerplate:
Agent builder & workflow editor
Real-time event streams & visualizations
Prompt versioning UI
Agent behavior configuration panels
Collaboration + role-based access screens
Integrate the frontend with backend workflows, APIs, and agent outputs
Contribute to our design system and shared UI packages
Forward-Deployed Engineering
Join customer POCs with medium–large US enterprises
Understand product teams’ requirements and turn them into UI flows
Customize Restack Boilerplate to match enterprise workflows, compliance, and branding
Build UI for internal experiments, simulations, and agent evaluations
Iterate quickly with founders to turn field feedback into product features
Product & Customer Collaboration
Help product teams structure how they interact with their AI agents
Turn loose concepts (“we need a better agent trace view”) into polished UIs
Document patterns and help shape a reusable “enterprise-ready” version of the boilerplate
You’re a Good Fit If You…
Have 1–4 years experience with React/TypeScript
Enjoy owning UX, building components, and shipping polished UI
Have strong intuition for product and developer experience
Are comfortable speaking with customers and gathering requirements
Thrive in environments where you can ship quickly and directly impact enterprise adoption
Are excited to help define the UX standard for enterprise AI agents
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with WebSockets/SSE
Understanding agent frameworks (MCP, Realtime API)
Experience with workflow tools (Temporal, React Flow)
Interest in design systems
