Founding Engineer
Help build the future of autonomous AI. We’re looking for passionate developers to join our early team and help us shape the future of Restack. As a Founding Engineer, you’ll have the freedom to work across the entire stack—creating impactful products and tools that enable developers to build powerful AI systems.
What You’ll Do
Build Core Products: Design and implement key components of our platform, from backend services to intuitive frontend interfaces.
End-to-End Ownership: Take full ownership of projects, from concept to production, and ship code that will have a real impact.
Experiment and Iterate: Innovate, experiment, and iterate quickly to create tools and systems that empower our users.
Shape the Developer Experience: Improve the developer experience and build tools that make it seamless for others to create and deploy autonomous AI products.

About You
Startup Mindset: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, love experimenting, and love to build and ship products that push the boundaries.
Full-Stack Experience: You have at least 5 years of production experience with React and SQL. Previous experience with TypeScript and GraphQL is strongly preferred.
Autonomous & Self-Driven: You thrive in a startup environment with minimal processes and are comfortable owning projects end-to-end.
Developer Advocate: You’re passionate about creating tools and processes that improve the developer experience.
Bonus Skills:
Familiarity with Temporal or similar orchestration frameworks.
A strong sense of UI/UX design.
Tech Stack
TypeScript, Node.js, Temporal, Postgres, Kubernetes, Terraform, Hasura, GraphQL, React, Next.js, Apollo, Storybook, Tailwind, Cypress.
Location
This role is mostly remote, but we prefer candidates based closer to San Francisco to facilitate in-person collaboration when needed.
