About pyannoteAI

pyannoteAI is pioneering Speaker Intelligence AI, transforming how AI processes and understands spoken language. Our speaker diarization technology distinguishes speakers with unmatched precision, regardless of the spoken language, making AI understand not just what is said, but who said it and when.
Founded by voice AI experts with 10+ years in the industry (ex-CNRS research scientists), we've built the 9th most downloaded open-source model on HuggingFace with 40+ million monthly downloads and over 200,000 users worldwide. After raising €8M from leading international VCs (Crane Venture Partners, Serena, and angels from HuggingFace and OpenAI), we're now scaling our enterprise platform.
From meeting transcription and call center analytics to video dubbing and voice agents, pyannoteAI powers the next generation of voice-enabled applications across industries that depend on understanding who speaks and when.

🧡 Your role

As our first Developer Relations Engineer, you'll be the bridge between pyannoteAI's engineering team and our global developer community of 200,000+ open-source users. Your mission: turn a massive open-source base into an engaged, technically fluent community that understands pyannoteAI as a whole β€” from our open-source models (Community-1, pyannote.audio) to our commercial platform (Precision-2, STT-Orchestration) and everything in between.
This is a hands-on, technical role. You'll spend your days making our speaker intelligence platform easier to understand, adopt, and love.
You'll:
Own and grow our developer community β€” Be the go-to presence across our community channels, spark meaningful conversations, and turn our 200K+ users into an engaged group that understands the full breadth of what pyannoteAI offers.
Be the bridge between engineering and community β€” Translate our team's technical work into content the community can use, and bring developer signal back to the teams building the product.
Create technical content that developers actually use β€” Tutorials, demos, code samples, starter templates, video walkthroughs β€” whatever format best helps developers go from curious to shipping.
Improve the developer experience end-to-end β€” From first API call to production, make every step sharper, faster, and easier.
Represent pyannoteAI in the developer ecosystem β€” Engage online, contribute to relevant projects, and (over time) speak at events that matter.
What makes this role unique: You're building the developer experience from scratch for one of the most-downloaded open-source voice AI projects in the world. With 200K+ users and 40M+ monthly HuggingFace downloads, you have a massive, engaged community to activate. You'll work directly with world-class AI researchers and founders, have creative freedom to experiment, and see immediate impact on developer adoption and product growth.

πŸ” What we're looking for

Must-haves:

3-5 years of software engineering experience with strong Python and full-stack development skills β€” Python proficiency is essential (it's the language of our community and ecosystem). You can build demos, review code, and have the technical credibility to earn respect from developers.
Proven ability to create compelling technical content β€” You have a portfolio of tutorials, blog posts, documentation, or demos that developers actually use and love.
Experience building demo applications and code samples β€” You're a hands-on builder who ships working examples, not just someone who writes about code.
Passion for teaching and helping developers succeed β€” You genuinely enjoy breaking down complex concepts and seeing others ship because of your work.
Strong written and verbal communication skills β€” You can explain complex technical concepts (like speaker diarization and AI models) in simple, accessible language.
Fluent in English β€” Comfortable creating content and engaging with developers in English.
Community management experience β€” You've fostered developer communities on Discord, forums, GitHub, or similar platforms and know how to spark meaningful conversations.
Product-minded and metrics-driven β€” You understand what moves the needle on developer adoption, speak to users to understand their needs, and make data-informed decisions about what content to create.
Comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed work β€” You thrive in fast-paced environments, take ownership without constant direction, and can build from scratch without a playbook.

Nice-to-haves:

Experience with AI/ML, speech/voice technology, or developer tools/APIs β€” Familiarity with the voice AI landscape or adjacent spaces helps you ramp faster and create better technical content.
Public speaking experience β€” Track record of speaking at conferences, meetups, or podcasts. You're comfortable representing a technical product on stage or camera, and excited to grow into this as pyannoteAI scales its event presence.
Video production and editing skills β€” Ability to produce and edit high-quality video content (tutorials, walkthroughs, demos) alongside written content.
Experience with real-time data pipelines, streaming APIs, or audio processing β€” Relevant to speaker diarization use cases and helps you create more authentic demos.
Active presence in developer communities β€” GitHub contributions, Stack Overflow participation, technical blog, or social media following that demonstrates genuine engagement with developers.
Design sensibility and UX awareness β€” Your demos don't just work, they look good and provide delightful developer experiences.
Experience using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) β€” You leverage modern tools to ship faster and stay current with developer workflows.
Familiarity with the JavaScript ecosystem β€” In addition to Python, JavaScript proficiency helps create content for frontend and full-stack developers.
Curiosity about voice AI β€” You're genuinely excited about speaker intelligence technology and intrinsically motivated to see developers win.

πŸ’š What you'll get

Benefits:
Competitive compensation package with attractive salary and BSPCE (French ESOP)
Premium Alan health insurance
Full transportation reimbursement
5 weeks of paid vacation + 10 RTT days
Work Environment:
Brand-new, premium offices at La Maison in central Paris (Motier Ventures' hub) β€” an inspiring space designed for fast-growing startups.
Top-tier equipment β€” Everything you need to do your best work, plus access to AI/ML tools and platforms for building demos and experimenting.
Impact & Opportunity:
Build the developer experience from scratch β€” Join as our first DevRel with the creative freedom to shape how our community discovers, adopts, and succeeds with pyannoteAI.
Work with cutting-edge voice AI technology β€” Learn from world-class ex-CNRS speech researchers and get hands-on with the most advanced speaker intelligence technology in the market.
Build your personal brand β€” Represent pyannoteAI externally and grow your technical presence in the developer community alongside the company's.
Shape what comes next β€” Your work informs where we go β€” from product to community programs β€” with real proximity to founders and decision-makers.
Grow with the company β€” Access to conferences and training as we scale, with potential to lead the DevRel function as the team grows.

⭐️ Hiring process

We've designed a comprehensive process to ensure mutual fit for this strategic role. Here's what to expect:
Screening call (30 min) β€” Get to know each other with our Chief of Staff and explore product philosophy alignment.
Conversation with our CEO (30 min) β€” Discuss vision and how DevRel fits into pyannoteAI's broader trajectory.
Take-home case study + presentation (2–3 days prep, 60-min presentation) β€” A project-based assignment focused on testing your ability to think strategically about developer experience and community engagement, followed by a presentation of your work.
Founders conversation (2 x 30 min) β€” Meet our CSO and CTO co-founders to align on technical vision, discuss the voice AI landscape, and explore what excites you about the space.
Timeline: Typically 2.5–3 weeks from application to offer. We'll keep you informed at every stage and respond within 2–3 days after each step.
