The Role
People at Gigs is not a support function. It's how we build a company where employees can do the best work of their lives.
We're hiring a Head of People who turns strategy into systems, plans, and measurable outcomes. A builder who creates clarity, sequences work, and makes teams faster. You'll own people partnering, people operations, and workplace, and run the operating rhythm across all three.
Ideal backgrounds: Chief of Staff to a CPO, senior People Ops leaders, or operators who have owned company-wide people programs.
The role reports to our founders and is based in New York. Salary: $250K+
What You'll Do
- People Partnering. Be the trusted partner to our leaders. Support org design, team health, performance, and the hard conversations managers avoid. Catch problems early.
- People Operations. Run our core cycles: performance reviews, calibrations, engagement surveys, onboarding, offboarding, and policy. Own the HRIS, the data, and compliance across the US and EU.
- Workplace. Own the experience across our hubs in New York, San Francisco, Amsterdam, Berlin, and London. Make each one a place people actually want to come to.
- Manager Enablement. Give managers the tools and confidence to lead well. Less process, more clarity.
- People Analytics. Define the metrics that matter. Build dashboards leaders actually open.
What We're Looking For
You understand that people are the highest leverage thing in business today.
We're not looking for a traditional HR and compliance professional. We want a world-class operator who builds people systems that compound and help us win. Someone who sees recruiting, development, and org design as competitive advantages, not cost centers.
- Extensive experience across People, Operations, and Culture as an operator, Chief of Staff, or people leader. You've run complex, cross-company programs end to end. You plan well, sequence work, manage dependencies, and ship.
- Talent density is your obsession. You know the difference between a team of 8 strong players and a team of 12 average ones.
- You're comfortable with data. You define the metrics, build the dashboards, and let the numbers inform the call. You design processes that scale and cut the ones that don't.
- You have real vision on the future of work. You want to help Gigs employees reimagine their careers, make AI a day-to-day tool across the company, and build an AI-forward workplace people actually want to be part of.
- You've hired and managed people across the US and EU, worked with legal, payroll, and PEO partners, and know how to stay compliant without slowing everything down.
- Founders and managers come to you with hard problems. You know how to be an effective advisor or coach.
