About Us

Encord is the universal data layer for AI that helps 300+ AI teams train and run models on the right data. Our platform indexes, curates, annotates, and evaluates data across the full AI lifecycle, from development through production.

Trusted by Woven by Toyota, AXA, UiPath, Zipline, and more. We're an ambitious team of 100+ working at the frontier of AI and have raised $60M in Series C funding from Wellington Management, CRV, Next47 and Y Combinator.

The role

We're looking for a Growth Associate - Community to own how technical teams discover and connect with Encord through community-led growth. You'll manage our social media presence, drive engagement at online and offline events, and build authentic relationships within ML and data communities.

This high-visibility role reports directly to our VP of Growth and involves close collaboration with Encord leadership on community strategy. You'll represent Encord at major industry conferences and events, building relationships with technical practitioners and ecosystem partners. This role combines community management with strategic content distribution — creating conversations that convert awareness into active participation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with genuine interest in ML/data ops to own a high-impact growth function.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage Encord's presence across social platforms, creating engaging content that resonates with our audience
  • Drive attendance and engagement at virtual and in-person events including workshops, meetups, and major conferences — managing promotion, logistics, and post-event nurture
  • Develop strategic relationships with technology partners in the ML/data ecosystem, creating co-marketing opportunities and collaborative community initiatives
  • Identify and engage with relevant online communities where ML practitioners discuss data challenges and share best practices
  • Create authentic conversations around data-centric AI, computer vision, and MLOps through thought leadership and community participation
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Leadership to translate technical concepts into accessible, shareable content across formats
  • Track community health metrics and engagement trends, connecting community activities to business outcomes

Who We're Looking For

  • Experience in community management, social media, or growth marketing, with demonstrated success building engaged audiences
  • Genuine curiosity about ML/AI with the ability to learn technical concepts quickly — comfortable discussing data pipelines, model training, and computer vision fundamentals
  • Excited to travel approximately 30% of the time to represent Encord at conferences, partner events, and community gatherings across the US and Europe
  • A natural community builder who understands platform-specific best practices and can adapt tone and content for different technical audiences
  • Hands-on experience managing social channels and creating diverse content formats (posts, threads, short videos, event materials)
  • Metrics-driven and experimental, using analytics to understand what resonates and iterating based on data
  • Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and external partners, representing Encord professionally in high-stakes environments

Experience Requirements

  • Recent graduate or 1–2 years of experience in community management, social media management, or growth marketing, ideally at a B2B technology company or in a developer-focused environment
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and engage an audience across social platforms — with a portfolio of content or channels that show you understand what resonates with technical or professional communities
  • Experience supporting or managing events end-to-end, from promotion and logistics through to post-event follow-up and engagement, for both virtual and in-person formats
  • Comfortable working with analytics tools to track community health, content performance, and engagement metrics, and using those insights to iterate
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to adapt tone and format for different platforms and audiences — from casual community threads to polished conference materials
  • Willingness and availability to travel approximately 30% of the time across the US and Europe
  • Bonus: Active participation in ML, data, or developer communities; experience organising meetups or technical events; familiarity with tools like HubSpot, Beehiiv, Notion, or community platforms; a content portfolio that demonstrates genuine technical curiosity
