The Role:

As Senior Data Scientist you will be expected to lead the statistical analysis of our clinical trials data, and will participate in collaborative projects to scientifically analyse data collected in-house as well as from external data sources. You will be embedded in a multidisciplinary team of researchers and will work closely alongside experts in Machine Learning, optics, neuroscience, and software/data engineering. Within this team, your role is to provide technical leadership across all statistical matters, and the scope of the problems you will work on will be wide and varying including clinical data analysis, device validation and verification activities, and working alongside machine learning researchers to ensure the validity and soundness of any new predictions and new signals that may be extracted from our unique multimodal medical device.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the statistical analysis of CoMind’s clinical trial data and exploratory analysis of multidimensional clinical datasets

  • Provide technical leadership in the statistical design of clinical trials

  • Research the scientific and medical literature to stay current with the state-of-the art in both the clinical statistics, and the medical device space

  • Requirement gathering from collaborators, synthesise into development work items, presenting to colleagues before execution

  • Effectively communicating results to internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:

  • A strong foundation in Statistics, Applied Maths, and Machine Learning

  • Experience applying statistical models to gain insights into a wide variety of clinical data types, including time-series data, tabular data, and image data

  • A PhD or masters degree in a quantitative field and 5+ years industry experience in a similar role

  • You have experience leading large-scale statistical projects from ideation to completion

  • You are proud of the quality of your code (Python, R, Julia … etc) and are familiar with industry best practices in software engineering

  • You have a product-focused mindset putting safety and reliability first.
