The Mission:

We’re looking to hire a product leader and evangelist, an effective business operator who is passionate about making smarter supply chains. Able to bridge technical and commercial, you’ll collaborate cross functionally and own the Automation Roadmap to build and sell our dispatch automation product into a new vertical in cold chain logistics while expanding usage across our existing customers in other verticals.

Key Outcomes:

  • Grow revenue in cold chain logistics from £0 to £500k in 12 months
  • Double revenue across existing verticals from £500k to £1m in 12 months
  • Keep operating margins at 90%
  • Aim to build a self-funded product i.e. own a cycle of revenue growth funding and directing product evolution

Role Requirements:

  • Own and manage the Automation roadmap; synthesising insights from a broad range of inputs and prioritising projects to ensure that your team is always working on the most impactful projects.
  • Collaborate closely with design to research, shape, and test various potential solutions.
  • Constantly evaluate if your solutions have solved the problem through quantitative and qualitative measures
  • Work closely with Engineering and other functions to own and maintain the quality of the product areas your team are responsible for.
  • Become an expert on logistics and how supply chains operate through customer and market research

About You:

  • You’ll have substantial experience as a product manager, ideally with proven success working with transportation dispatch automation software and logistics providers
  • You’ll bring a strong understanding of how to prioritise, win internal stakeholders, balance dependencies and intelligently phase product releases, shipping both new and incremental product.
  • You’ll have a good understanding of the technical architecture of complex web applications.
  • You can clearly communicate product decisions and the rationale behind them. You’re comfortable leading on key decisions whilst fostering understanding and driving alignment with a naturally collaborative style.
  • You’re able to project manage yourself and your workload, and be a resilient self-starter.
  • You’ll ideally have experience in logistics or supply chain and experience in SaaS, working on products that greatly leverage data in their operation.

Key Competencies:

  • A leader, strong personal sense of ownership, high energy & high aptitude:
    • Able and happy to wear multiple hats and, if needed, personally drag and force the product into success by taking on what needs to be done and doing it quickly.
  • Previous experience building and selling B2B enterprise saas products from £0:
    • Knows how to build and sell products into enterprise from £0 to some revenue.
    • Able to use pilot programmes and roadmap promises to secure customers and build pipeline.
  • Logistics experience:
    • Knows about transportation management and logistics.
    • Has lead operations teams or build software in dispatch automation space. Ideally for freight and non-freight use cases.
  • Risk seeking & committed:
    • Able to handle - and relishes - the risk relating customers, sales, finance inherent in earlier stage businesses and ‘0 to 1 product builds’.
    • Perseveres through hardship, has strong resolve to deliver ongoing change.
  • Can operate in a commercially sensitive and effective way:
    • Able to get customers started with minimal build.
    • Builds pipeline and revenue before asking for more funds aiming to build a self-funded product i.e. fund team growth with revenue or at least promised revenue behind features.
  • Sales mindset:
    • An effective and dependable partner to sales, acting as a solutions engineer pre-sales to get customers bought into vision and product.
