As a member of the Hardware Team, your mission is to improve system reliability and customer satisfaction through the design and industrialization of innovative hardware products that meet high-quality standards and achieve long-term reliability.
You’ll be joining the Embedded Systems & Hardware team responsible for developing our IoT device, implementing both hardware and firmware architectures, ensuring the performance and integrity of our product.
As Hardware Engineer you will
- Design and industrialization of new product versions that meet requirements and get them ready for mass production kick-off;
- Review product requirements documents and translate business requirements into technical requirements;
- Design, build, and test prototypes for each design phase (including schematic capture and PCB layout);
- Define and meet quality gates at each design and manufacturing stage;
- Write prototype bring-up firmware and software;
- Design, build, and program test jigs and train contract manufacturer’s staff.
- Implement and execute quality processes that ensure high longevity and low failure rates;
- Design and follow through with a test plan to reduce early mortality and ensure high longevity of the hardware, while keeping hardware-related downtimes to a set target;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to collect metrics that provide compliance evidence for the defined quality metrics, and define follow-up action plans.
- Support current hardware by providing assistance to contract manufacturers, and by improving quality processes and monitoring metrics;
- Ensure all contract manufacturers requests are handled within one working day, and have adequate follow-up;
- Anticipate risks and potential delays, follow-up with action plans;
- Manage production documentation packages, part life-cycle, and BOM traceability;
- Validate alternative components, and produce suitability evidence through testing and reporting.

This is what we believe is needed for this role
- Proven track record of electronics hardware development (3+ years of experience);
- Previous experience with hardware production and supplier management;
- Comfortable doing digital design for IoT devices;
- Knowledge of PCB design tools;
- Knowledge of EMI mitigation techniques;
- Soldering skills (including SMDs down to 0402, QFNs, etc.);
- Fluency in English.
Bonus points
- BSc. or MSc in Electronics Engineer or similar field;
- Automotive interest or knowledge and experience in the Automotive industry;
- Familiarity with design and debug of ARM-based systems;
- Knowledge/experience with BMS systems;
- Experience with KiCad (1+ years);
- Experience with the certification process of a hardware product;
- Experience with PLM systems and change request processes.
